What is PRS?

The Precision Rifle Series (PRS) is the leading organization for competitive bolt-action rifle shooting in the United States. PRS matches test a shooter's ability to engage targets at various distances in challenging scenarios.

Competitors face time pressure, varying target distances from 100 to over 1000 yards, and must adapt to changing conditions including wind, elevation, and shooting positions.

At Missouri Mile Shooting Ranch, we host PRS-style matches that welcome shooters of all skill levels, from beginners looking to learn the sport to experienced competitors seeking challenging courses of fire.

Match Format

Timed Stages

Each stage has a time limit, typically 90-120 seconds, to engage multiple targets.

Multiple Positions

Shoot from various positions including prone, barricades, rooftops, and more.

Varied Distances

Targets range from close-range to extreme long-range, testing all aspects of your skills.

Points System

Score points for each target hit. The shooter with the most points wins.

Rifle Requirements

Bolt-action rifle in calibers from 6mm to .308 Winchester
Magnified optic (typically 10-25x magnification)
Bipod and/or rear bag for stability
Quality match-grade ammunition

Additional Gear

Shooting bag(s) for positional support
Rangefinder and/or Kestrel ballistic computer
Eye and ear protection
DOPE book or data tracking app
